Sound, visualized.
Mood, reflected.
Xpress is a Spotify-driven ambient particle visualizer designed specifically for secondary monitors. Watch your music shape a responsive, ACES-tonemapped 3D environment in real-time.
Spotify API Notice: Currently in closed developer preview due to Spotify developer quota restrictions. Playback connection is limited to pre-authorized accounts.
An engine driven by your taste.
Xpress features a dynamic MoodEngine that extracts musical profiles to alter rendering states on the fly. It translates Spotify track signals into vector fields, blending five motion modes.
From gentle drifting vortex fields for acoustic tracks to high-energy bursts and attractors for heavy beats — your music literally shapes the particle behavior.
Cinematic Post Pipeline.
Built with custom Three.js shader passes, Xpress implements a professional ACES filmic tonemap and post-processing stack.
With adjustable isotropic bloom, subtle chromatic aberration, vignette, and film grain, the visualizer looks premium and soft — glowing, rather than glaring.
MoodEngine Blender
Dynamically morphs particle shapes, vortex weights, and cameras between 5 different motion profiles.
Palette Extraction
Extracts dominant and secondary color schemes directly from Spotify album art in real-time without libraries.
Synthetic Signals
Fallback logic estimates musical features (tempo, energy, valence) from genres and context when API limits apply.
Secondary Monitor Lock
Designed specifically to sit beautifully on your side monitor with borderless configurations.
Custom Settings
Adjust particle count, rendering resolution scale, bloom filters, and film grain directly in the app.
Ambient HUD
Tracks current playback time, showing song progress alongside a clean minimalist clock overlay.
Direct Spotify Handshake.
Xpress connects directly to the Spotify Web API using secure OAuth PKCE credentials. Your connection token is stored locally on your machine via Electron Store — no backend database and no third-party tracking.
